“Salary Purse Boosted for Upcoming SA20 Season”

Prior to the 2018 season, the pay budget for SA20 clubs grew significantly from R34 million to R39.1 million.

Also, the organisers changed the rules to require that each team attract a young South African rookie player. The squad now involves 19 members as a result of the player who shouldn’t have ever played in the SA20. There must be a minimum of 11 South Africans present, but teams may start up to four foreign players.

The SA20 League commissioner, Graeme Smith, said “we have put these new rules in place to build on the successful first season of Betway SA20, which was supported by entertaining and excellent cricket from some of the best players in the world.” The opportunity for teams to gather the best players from both domestic and international rivals is certain to keep the second season of cricket exciting and competitive for the viewers.

in a news release, “the addition of a rookie player to the squads demonstrates our ongoing dedication and investment in providing young talent with a global platform for exposure.” Throughout our first season, the young boys put in some great shows. The SA20 provides room for young cricketers, offering them another chance to demonstrate their abilities.

The official trading period for South African players began on June 1. Teams are permitted to trade, keep buyout, or pre-sign players prior to the auction. Sunrisers Eastern Cape had a great first season.
