Trent Boult, a seamer for the Rajasthan Royals, removed Rohit Sharma for a golden duck in the opening over.
On Monday, April 1, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will play their first home game of the season at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai was requested to bat first by RR captain Sanju Samson after he won the toss. But the hosts’ innings didn’t start off well as new-ball specialist Trent Boult took the valuable wicket of Rohit Sharma for a golden duck in the very first over of the game.
With a ball of excellent length, Boult curved away from the MI opener and sent his edge straight to Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper. The stadium fell dead as the former Mumbai captain made the arduous trek back to the pavilion after being dismissed, even though everyone had come to watch him bat.

With an inswinger on the very next delivery, Boult caught Naman Dhir in front of the stumps, adding more agony to the hosts. By the conclusion of the first over, MI was struggling at 1/2.
After 2.2 overs, MI was in serious danger at 14/3 when the Kiwi seamer returned in his next over and took out Dewald Brevis (0 off 1). Boult scored 3/14 in three overs thanks to his outstanding opening performance. Nandre Burger, on the other hand, too joined the celebration after dismissing Ishan Kishan (16 off 14) in the fourth over to put MI on 20/4.
