On Wednesday, May 1, during the Chennai Super Kings vs. Punjab Kings game, Deepak Chahar left the field due to an injury.
Deepak Chahar did not appear well, according to head coach of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Stephen Fleming, after the seasoned bowler hurt himself while bowling during the match on May 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai against the Punjab Kings (PBKS).
CSK had set a target of 163 for the visitors, and Deepak was given the first over in the second innings. The thirty-one-year-old pulled up in his delivery stride just after bowling two balls. After that, he spoke with Rututaj Gaikwad, his captain, and then headed off the field. Deepak called on Shardul Thakur to finish the final four deliveries of his over.
After this, Chahar left the field again. A worrying update on Chahar was given by Fleming following the game. He said that the “initial feeling wasn’t great” but expressed optimism that a “more positive report” would surface shortly. Additionally, he mentioned that Tushar Deshpande was not included in the playing XI on Wednesday because he was recuperating from the virus.
“Deepak Chahar is not attractive. It didn’t feel well at first. We are therefore awaiting further encouraging news. Doctors and physiotherapists will examine. Sri Lankan lads are leaving to apply for a visa. We’re looking for a seamless process there. And we reclaim them for our upcoming game in the north. Richard Gleeson was a positive and decent man. We had to make some odd alterations today because Tushar Deshpande had the sick. However, it is just a portion of it, and we are equipped. At the news conference following the game, Fleming stated, “It’s just that they haven’t had time to get comfortable in their roles and us to get comfortable with the game plan that we are struggling with.”
