Delhi Capitals

Following the team’s defeat against the Mumbai Indians, assistant coach Pravin Amre of the Delhi Capitals said, “I’m proud of the way we batted.”

“I think till the 19th over, our scores were the same around 201,” Amre replied.

Mumbai, April 8, 2024: On Sunday, the Delhi Capitals lost their fifth IPL 2024 game at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to the Mumbai Indians by a score of 29 runs. The host team amassed a massive 234/5 in their 20 overs, while the Delhi Capitals were only able to muster 205/8 despite Tristan Stubbs’ explosive undefeated innings of 71 runs in 25 balls.

The assistant coach for the Delhi Capitals, Pravin Amre, did not sugarcoat the defeat, saying, “In this format, the final five overs are always crucial. The intention was to limit them to less than 200, but Romario Shepherd deserves praise for his batting performance.”
“All in all, it was a fun and engaging game. I’m pleased with how we batted. I believe our scores were about 201 up until the 19th over,” he said.

Amre stated, “We have to start well in this particular tournament, but injuries have impacted us,” after losing four of the first five games. Ishant was only able to bowl two overs in the first game when Mukesh was hurt. Marsh is hurt, and Kuldeep has missed the previous three games; these are two important players, and their absences have affected the team as a whole.”
The 55-year-old stated, “Well, the beauty of this game and IPL is, any team can beat anyone,” in reference to the upcoming strategy. The main advantage is that we have the proof that we defeated CSK.”

“In the IPL, you must click on every department. “We need to improve our bowling; only then will we be able to win consecutive games,” he said.
The Delhi Capitals, now ranked bottom in the IPL 2024 points standings, will play their next IPL 2024 match on Friday at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow against the Lucknow Super Giants.
