In the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, Liverpool will travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night to continue defending their title.
Although the Reds will also face the Seagulls in the Premier League on Saturday, they are playing Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton for the first time after defeating West Ham United 5-1 in the third round.
Following a difficult week that included draws with Arsenal and wins over Chelsea and RB Leipzig, Arne Slot’s team will be eager to build on their strong start to the season at the American Express Stadium. Liverpool will go to the Carabao Cup quarterfinal if they win on Wednesday, and they have only lost once since the Dutchman was hired.
Brighton will be looking to recover from their heartbreaking loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers at home last time out, as Hurzeler’s team gave up a two-goal lead after giving up goals in the 88th and 93rd minutes.
