David Warner scored three sixes and five fours in his outstanding knock of fifty-two (35) runs.

David Warner, the opener for the Delhi Capitals (DC), continued his incredible success in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) on Sunday, March 31 in Visakhapatnam, with a magnificent half-century against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Warner and Prithvi Shaw opened the innings together, and Warner quickly put his team ahead with 93 runs for the first wicket off of 57 balls.

After reaching his half-century in just 32 balls, the southpaw hit five fours and three sixes his route to scoring 52 off just 35 balls. After only five runs off the first six balls, he burst the shackles with a stroke that was a sight to behold in the third over of the innings. The southpaw dropped down on his knees to smack Deepak Chahar over deep square leg for a huge six on the third ball of the over.

Prithvi Shaw, who also produced a fantastic knock of 43 (27) with the help of four fours and two sixes in the season’s opening game, provided Warner with excellent support throughout the innings. Notably, Mitchell Marsh started for DC with Warner in the first two games of the season, but he was unable to turn his starts into significant scoring opportunities.

Since his return, Rishabh Pant scores his first fifty.

Shaw was finally added to the squad to replace Ricky Bhui, who was supposed to start the season but did not make an impression, moving Marsh down to number three. Following a solid opening partnership between Warner and Shaw, CSK produced an incredible comeback, taking three wickets in five overs to leave Delhi struggling at 134/5 after 15 overs.
