On March 2, Mayank took on Royal Challengers Bengaluru with all guns blazing.
Whenever Mayank Yadav gets the ball, he has a habit of spitting fire. When the pacer was selected by the Lucknow Super Giants to join their bowling lineup for the Indian Premier League 2022, he had only played in two List A games. But he was benched during the season, and he missed the next one due to a hamstring injury. However, he seemed to have made up for lost time in the IPL 2024 by speaking with his captivating spells.
When the 21-year-old made his LSG debut against the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024, he made it apparent what he wanted. During his outing, the right arm pacer recorded a speed of 155.8 kph. When he was armed with the ball, the batsmen could not afford to blink. However, on March 2, he came out swinging for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With the opening ball of the eighth over, the young batsman hit a speed of 156.7 kph on the speed gun against Cameron Green.
Yadav has also gone to the top of the IPL 2024 pace charts with this ball. With a ball speed of 156.7 kmph, the 21-year-old has already bowled the IPL 2024 fastest ball.
In the same over, Cameron Green was removed by another quick delivery:

Yadav really impressed Dale Steyn.
Mayank Yadav’s speed really pleased former South Africa bowler Dale Steyn, who has plagued many hitters with his pace during his career.
Steyn tweeted, “That’s a serious ball!” after being left in awe by Yadav’s blazing spell.
That ball is quite serious! #PACE

At Chinnaswamy, Mayank rattles the RCB middle order.
RCB’s real descent began on Tuesday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium with Mayank. Glenn Maxwell was delivered a short of the length delivery by him at 151 kph. The hitter, who is accustomed to playing on the rapid pitches of Australia, misjudged the quick ball and attempted a late pull, but Nicholas Pooran holed him out at mid-on.
Upon Cameron Green’s arrival to the crease, he carried on with his excellent speed bowling. There was speed, and Mayank, seeing that Green was powerless, shook the wood with a good-length ball that tucked back in. Rajat Patidar became his final victim of the evening after he lost control of his stroke while playing a pull shot due to the fast tempo. At deep-backward square leg, the ball top-edged and soared straight to Devdutt Padikkal. He has not yet bowled more than 50 balls, but he already has the most 150+ deliveries.
