The 16th match of the IPL 2024 took place at the Dr. Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Following their toss victory, KKR elected to bat first.
Sunil Narine, a powerful batter, destroyed the Delhi Capitals’ bowling arsenal by smashing 85 off 39 balls. While youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54), power batter Andre Russell (41), and Rinku Singh (26) shown their prowess against DC spinners to help KKR record a huge score, skipper Shreyas Iyer battled for Kolkata. Ishant Sharma’s exquisite yorker in the last over proved to be the difference between Russellmania and Kolkata’s 272-7 total after 20 overs. Thanks to Russell and Rinku, KKR has compiled the second-highest total in IPL history.
