Australia’s Josh Hazlewood will not take the pitch in India in the World Test Championship Final on June 7.
Despite bowling strongly during practise, Hazlewood is dealing with a left Achilles problem in addition to the side ailment he just received while playing in the IPL. They chose a precautionary decision because Australia’s Ashes match will begin shortly after the WTC Final.
Josh Hazlewood was “very, very close to getting the go-ahead,” as to the head of the selectors, George Bailey, but we are aware that this is not a one-off Test match for us at our coming schedule. Josh will prepare for Ed gbaston as part of this. We will need every fast bowler we have with six Test matches coming up in the next seven weeks.
Michael Neser, a 33-year-old fast bowler, has joined the team as a result of the development. Neser only played one more Test before taking a year off after making his debut during the home Ashes series in 2021–2022. It is unlikely that Scott Boland will increase that number during the WTC Final as he has established himself as one of the favorites to make the Australian XI.
According to Bailey, Michael Neser has been in top form for County, and knowing that he would be nearby allowed him to keep playing and allowed us to call on him. “To have him in the fast bowling group is a great strength.”
