In IPL 2024 Match 18, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets.

Hyderabad. Following CSK’s decision to bat first, the SRH bowlers produced an outstanding show of bowling, limiting them to just 165/5 in their allocated 20 overs, with Shivam Dube topping the score.

In response, SRH easily reached the goal in 18.1 overs because to a scorching start from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma (31 off 24) and a half-century from Aiden Markram (50 off 36). With two victories from four games, the Pat Cummins-led team took the match by six wickets and moved up to fifth place in the standings. However, CSK, who had also won two of their previous four games, held onto third place.

1. Shivam Dube never stops showing off his strength with vicious strokeplay.

After the CSK openers failed to capitalise on the powerplay, with the score at 54/1 after 7.1 overs, the southpaw came in to bat. Dube did not lose any time in settling in and immediately took his anger out on the bowlers. With the assistance of two fours and four sixes, the 30-year-old scored a rapid 45 (24) to raise the run rate above 8.5.

2. Pat Cummins drops his appeal against Ravindra Jadeja for obstructing the pitch.

In the second final over of the first innings, the captain of the SRH withdrew the appeal against the CSK all-rounder for “obstructing the field” when the player inadvertently stepped in the way of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s toss. The on-field umpires considered stepping upstairs when they saw Jadeja block the throw, but captain Cummins withheld the “spirit of the game” by withdrawing the appeal.

3. During the powerplay, Abhishek Sharma destroys the bowlers for CSK.

The 23-year-old ignited his team’s offence in the powerplay, showcasing his incredible hitting ability once more. Sharma took full advantage of the field constraints, hitting three fours and four sixes his route to a scorching 37 from just 12 balls.
