In only 39 deliveries, Parag scored an undefeated 54 for RR against MI, which included five boundaries and three maximums.
After Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets in the IPL 2024, which was played at the storied Wankhede Stadium on April 1, batter Riyan Parag recorded a heartfelt moment with his mother. This was RR’s third straight victory in the current competition. MI, on the other hand, has lost each of their first three games of play.
Parag hit an undefeated 54 off 39 deliveries, including five boundaries and three maximums, to chase a below-par mark of 126. With two fifties, the 22-year-old has already scored 181 runs at a strike rate of above 160. In the IPL 2024 Orange Cap list, he is tied with ace batter Virat Kohli of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
RR posted a video of Parag and his mother hugging and her kissing his forehead on the microblogging site X. After that, she put the Orange Cap on the child’s head. The franchise wrote, “No one loves you like your mum does,” as the picture’s description.

Parag, Chahal, and Boult shine as RR defeats MI
After being asked to bat first, the Mumbai Indians’ batting collapsed from the opening of the first innings. Significant strides were made for RR by Trent Boult, who removed Dewald Brevis, Rohit Sharma, and Naman Dhir for golden ducks. Tilak Varma (32) and MI skipper Hardik Pandya (34) scored 56 runs off of 36 balls for the fifth wicket. But Nadre Burger and Yuzvendra Chahal took three and two wickets respectively to restrict the five-time winners to a below-average 125 runs.

Kwena Maphaka, a young South African, made an immediate impression in the second innings, getting rid of Yashasvi Jaiswal for ten in the opening over. Aakash Madhwal, meanwhile, contributed to his team’s respectable showing by taking the wickets of R Ashwin, Jos Buttler, and skipper Sanju Samson. With 27 balls remaining, Riyan’s half-century helped RR pursue the goal.
