Farooqi sent for scans ahead of third ODI

According to a spokesman for the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Fazalhaq Farooqi underwent MRI scans at the hospital to identify the cause of his calf muscle issues.

Farooqi was instructed to stop in the first game against Bangladesh after nine overs and was unable to complete his bowling.

Bangladesh was only able to score 169-9 using the D/L system, losing 17 runs, in the permitted 43 overs. Farooqi, who had a rating of 3 to 24 and was named Player of the Match, acted as the primary destroyer.

He threw a 3-22 pick in the second game, but officials say the ACB has ordered him to obtain an MRI on Monday to seek a second opinion from the medical team about his calf muscle issues.

He continued by saying that he hoped to play on July 11 against Bangladesh in the third One-Day International. He allegedly stated, “He faced some issues yesterday (in the first game), and as he was discovering some issues, we sent him to the hospital today.”

Farooqi bowled flawlessly during the session on Monday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. He was seen leaving the team hotel for his scan later that evening.
