unbelievable run-fest

Ravichandran Ashwin tweets an emergency message saying, “Save the bowlers,” following an incredible run-fest between KKR and PBKS.

After PBKS overcame KKR at home by scoring 262 runs in the process, Ashwin tweeted.

Witnessing the recent IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 match between the Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders was quite the spectacle. On Friday, April 26, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, both teams squared off in the tournament’s 42nd game.

The match was a run-fest because Punjab’s batting attack easily chased down the goal and even won the game by eight wickets after KKR put a massive 261 runs on the board in the first innings.

With a score of 54 runs, Prabhsimran Singh began the innings before Jonny Bairstow stormed to a century. In addition, Shashank Singh contributed to Punjab Kings’ victory with an undefeated 68* runs in 28 deliveries.

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin used X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his sympathies to the bowlers involved in the altercation after witnessing it. Ashwin wrote on X, saying, “Someone, please save the bowlers.”

Both teams’ bowling outings were unimpressive. Sam Curran of PBKS gave up 60 runs in four overs, Kagiso Rabada gave up 52 runs in three overs, and Harshal Patel gave up 48 runs in three overs as KKR amassed a 261-run lead in the opening innings.

However, Harshit Rana of KKR gave up the most runs in the second innings; in the four overs he bowled, the pacer gave up 61 runs. In three overs, Varun Chakravarthy gave up 46 runs, while Dushmantha Chameera gave up 48 runs.
