Due to an injury, opening batsman Devon Conway will not play in the IPL in 2024. Richard Gleeson of England has been selected to take his place; he will cost INR 50 lakh when he joins CSK.
In the run-up to the IPL, Conway broke his left thumb joint and required surgery. Gary Stead, the head coach of New Zealand, said that Conway would need to recover for “eight weeks”. Right-arm pacer Gleeson, 36, made his debut against India in Birmingham in 2022 and has since participated in six Twenty20 Internationals. Even though Gleeson took three wickets throughout the game, India prevailed.
LSG declines Shoriful due to a NOC concern
Bangladeshi pacer Shoriful Islam disclosed on Thursday that the Lucknow Super Giants had expressed interest in signing him for the current Indian Premier League, but he had to withdraw because he was unable to secure a no-objection certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The problem was brought back to light on Wednesday when BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus stated that Mustafizur Rahman had ‘nothing to learn in the IPL,’ a comment that alarmed Bangladeshi players who have been finding it difficult to obtain NOCs to play in the league. One more day has been added to Mustafizur’s NoC to participate in the Indian Premier League before he reports to the national squad for the forthcoming series against Zimbabwe.
Mustafizur was granted permission to play in the IPL, however Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed were not given permission to do so. Although Jalal had previously stated that they would be happy to give Shoriful the NOC for a specific amount of time, it’s possible that the franchise was not interested. Although LSG was unwilling to take the left-arm pacer for such a brief amount of time, Cricbuzz is aware that BCB intended to offer the NOC in between the home series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
Taskin Ahmed turned down LSG’s prior offer to join them in 2022 because he was too busy playing Test cricket against South Africa.

Still smarting from the shock defeat against RR, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer has also been fined for his team’s slow over rate during the encounter at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The slowness of the over rate further dented the Knight Riders in the final over of the game as they were forced to keep an extra fielder in the ring, thereby making things much more easier for Jos Buttler. As it is KKR’s first offence of the tournament, Iyer’s fine was limited to INR 12 lakhs.

Despite having returned to Australia to treat a hamstring injury, Mitchell Marsh is still eligible to play in the current Indian Premier League season. Home games between KCR and GT postponed
The home games of the Gujarat Titans against the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Rajasthan Royals have been rescheduled. The KKR match, originally scheduled for April 17, will now happen one day early. The GT game slated for April 16 will instead take place on April 17.
Due to Rama Navami celebrations, the BCCI had considered altering the schedule in Kolkata since they were uncertain if the police would be able to provide sufficient protection for the IPL match that evening. This was first reported by Cricbuzz.

My family and I are in mourning now that she has passed away, and I need to be near them. So even though some people might find this shocking, I know that this is the best choice for me. Since I’m still young, I plan to play cricket for many, many more years and to make the most of them.

After receiving the all-clear from BCCI’s medical team to play in the 2024 Indian Premier League, Rishabh Pant believes he is back to action, calling it nothing short of a miracle. Pant was involved in a terrible vehicle accident on December 30, 2022. Pant had to go a long way to fully heal from injuries to his head, knee, and back.
“To be able to play cricket again after everything I’ve been through is nothing short of a miracle,” Pant stated. “I express my gratitude to all of my supporters and well-wishers, but especially to the BCCI and the NCA personnel. They continue to be my greatest source of strength with their love and support.”

For the 2024 IPL, KKR has named Phil Salt to replace Jason Roy.
Phil Salt has been picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders to take Jason Roy’s spot since he has withdrawn from the IPL 2024. The reserve fee of INR 1.5 Crore has been paid for the English wicketkeeper-batter.
Despite not selling at the auctions this year, Salt was a player for the Delhi Capitals the previous year. He scored 218 runs at a strike rate of 163.91 in nine games during the previous season.

Punjab Kings home games in the IPL 2024 will take place at the recently built Mohali stadium.
The home games of the Punjab franchise in Mohali will not take place at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium for the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League. The recently built Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in the city will host all of Punjab Kings’ home games during the 2018 IPL season.
Over the past two years, the MYS Stadium in Mullanpur has been holding domestic matches as a warm-up for bigger things. The venue’s herringbone drainage system is its best feature; once the rain stops, it helps quickly eliminate water within 30 minutes. The one distinctive aspect of the earth, though, is that it is composed of sand rather than the typical Indian soil structure.
Geographically speaking, the PCA Stadium is about 30 minutes’ driving away from the new stadium, which is just slightly over 13 km away. On March 23, Punjab Kings take on Delhi Capitals at home to begin their IPL 2024 campaign.
