Following an early collapse, the Mumbai Indians moved Piyush Chawla up the order.
In the first 14 games of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024), fans have been treated to some great cricket action as they have witnessed some incredible moments on the pitch. Up till now, the 17th edition of the T20 spectacular has witnessed everything from incredible hitting to breathtaking catches. That was the case on Monday, April 1, when Shimron Hetmyer continued to light up the competition during the Mumbai Indians vs. Rajasthan Royals game at Wankhede Stadium.
MI found themselves in a difficult situation after being assigned to bat first when they were reduced to 20/4 in only 3.3 overs by Rajasthan’s seamers. Due to the collapse, the management had to change up their batting order, moving Piyush Chawla up to the seventh spot. But the experimenting did not pay off for the five-time winners, as the southpaw was removed for a cheap three runs off of six in the 12th over, thanks to an outstanding catch at point by Shimron Hetmyer.

Chawla struck the ball in the air as it was travelling from the right of point on the opening ball of Avesh Khan’s over. Stationed at the fielding position, Hetmyer made a rapid motion to his right and leaped to his full height, finishing the screamer. MI lost their sixth wicket as a result, scoring only 83 runs in 11.1 overs.
